Six of Georgia's AgrAbility staff members attended an American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid Course on April 20th. The course prepares participants to provide first aid in medical emergencies, injury emergencies, and environmental emergencies. As well, participants receive AHA, CPR, and AED use certifications and learn to recognize and provide first aid in cases of opioid associated life-threatening emergencies.
The Meet at the Shed Program is continuing to offer workshops for men to come and fellowship with each other. On April 22nd, another wood carving class was held in which the participants made a Lil' Abner boot and learned new carving techniques. A journalist came to the class to do a story on the Meet at the Shed Program.
GA AgrAbility has many clients and farmers around the state struggling to find workers for their farming operations. agrileadHER (a Southern Region FRSAN/SAgE project) hosted a webinar about the H2A program and what farmers need to know who are considering using it. AgrAbility staff attended the webinar to be able to share information with their farmers.
