Abbie Spackman attended the Pennsylvania Rehabilitation Association's Professional Development Institute. She spoke about, and exhibited information on, AgrAbility services and agricultural assistive technology. This is a new outreach activity aimed at educating and raising awareness of AgrAbility PA among rehabilitation professionals and service providers across the state.
Funding is often a topic on the table when talking with farmers that have a disability or long-term health condition - but paying for or acquiring assistive technology can present some challenges. AgrAbility PA staff created a "Funding Agricultural Assistive Technology" handout to use as a communication tool to help farmers understand where funding comes from, how to be a self-advocate for funding, and examples of farmers who have received funding for AT from various sources.
