Staff participated in many events this October including the Aging & Disability Summit, Physical Therapy Conference, Alaska Federation of Natives Convention, and the Alaska Federation for the Blind Convention. Along with Empowering Education's Annette Alfonsi, AKAgrAbility staff accepted a resolution to make October "Disability Employment Awareness Month" at the October 10th Anchorage Assembly meeting. The Office of Disability Employment Policy chose "Advancing Access and Equity" as the theme for National Disability Employment Awareness Month this October and staff were happy to help increase awareness about disability inclusive employment. Upcoming in November is Assistive Technology Awareness Month where staff is accepting another resolution to recognize the importance and impact of assistive technology at the November 21st Anchorage Assembly meeting.
