AgrAbility PA staff connected with attendees at the Keystone Farm Show in York, PA, by providing hands-on AT examples. During the three-day event, staff provided examples and demonstrations of low- and high-tech assistive technology. They engaged with over 170 people. Items such as heated gloves, crampons (ice cleats), Gripeeze gloves, and weightlifting hooks to carry buckets were among the items attendees were most interested in. Several attendees even ordered weightlifting hooks while standing at the booth!
AgrAbility PA staff provided a take-home message to all attendees at the Perry County Crops Day, hosted by Penn State Extension. This event was attended by 100 farmers renewing their pesticide licenses.
AgrAbility was able to give an educational presentation to attendees and provide a display of assistive technology examples. During the presentation attendees were encouraged to do a self-evaluation and brainstorm solutions to help them remain safe and active on their own farms as well as to encourage them to connect with AgrAbility for a more in-depth assessment.
