In February, Jada Ruff, Nebraska Extension, and the AgrAbility occupational therapy (OT) students attended the Women in Agriculture Conference in Kearney. This two-day conference was a great opportunity to meet and have conversations about AgrAbility with women involved in farming and ranching. Staff also visited with people who had been impacted by AgrAbility's services.
The Nebraska AgrAbility team hosted the advisory board in February. The team is grateful to have wonderful board members to help guide this program and its team. Their input is appreciated, and the staff and team look forward to continuing these conversations throughout the year. This quote sums up our day: "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." - Margaret Mead.
The Nebraska AgrAbility occupational therapy (OT) students have developed specialty handouts for the team to utilize with farmers and ranchers across the state. Topics include traumatic brain injury, cardiac Met levels, arthritis, slips and falls on the farm, youth safety, and more. The OT students are enthusiastic and appreciate this opportunity to work with the team and create educational resources.
