2 people looking at a tractor that's towing a bush-hog type mowerUGA Farm Again hosted a tractor operator and safety workshop for new and beginning farmers on April 27th. The morning session included an overview of tractor controls, operating practices, and safety presentations led by Dr. Glen Rains, a co-director of Georgia AgrAbility and Georgia's farm safety Extension specialist. In the afternoon,participants split into two groups. Each group went through a hitching exercise where they 2 tractors in a field where orange & white pylons are arranged for a tractor workshoplearned to hitch 3-point and drawbar implements as well as connect hydraulic lines and PTO shafts as well as safety protocols while hitching implements. As well, each group also drove a tractor with an instructor through a course that included learning the controls on the tractor, shifting ranges and gears, and steering and backing maneuvers.

The topic of the webinar was "Making, Mounting, and Modifying in Minutes." Attendees were able to get a first-hand look at many different solutions that can be made very quickly for clients that they are working with. There were 37 attendees for this wonderful webinar.
