TN Grain Bin Safety/Rescue Awareness Training

TN AgrAbility staff, partnering with TN Association of Rescue Squads and UT TSU Extension, began August with the 14th TN Grain Bin Safety/Rescue Awareness Training. Fifty-two rescue personnel and farmers from the following Tennessee counties were in attendance: Cheatham, Dickson, Houston, Humphreys, Montgomery, Robertson, Stewart and KY Counties: Christian, Logan, Trigg, and Todd. What was unique about this training? This was the first training to have the PowerPoint presentation translated into Spanish, and our first Spanish interpreter, retired Cheatham County UT Extension ANR agent Ronnie Barren, was in attendance with 10 Hispanic farm workers.

UT TSU Extension Vicki Witcher; Robertson Co UT TSU Extension Timmy Mann, Cheatham Co Retired UT TSU Extension Ronnie Barren (interpreter); TN Association of Rescue Squads (TARS) and all the rescue personnel & ag producers who took time from their busy schedule & time away from family to attend the training.
