AgrAbility staff members Marci Walborn, Em Kase, and Haze Orner presented information about AgrAbility and assistive technology to students at the Rodale Institute in Kutztown, PA. The Rodale Institute is a non-profit organization that supports research into organic farming. During the presentation, various topics were covered, including the most common agriculture related disabilities/chronic health conditions, and pieces of assistive technology (including the Stand 'n Plant, Sit 'n Scoot, and ergonomic garden tools) were brought for students to explore and interact with.
AgrAbility staff members Abbie Kibe and Haze Orner attended the PA Veteran Farmer Network Beginning Farmer Workshop on April 25th in Centre Hall, PA. The event included presenters from the local conservation district and Natural Resources Conservation Service. Haze was able to talk about AgrAbility and hand out the program's veteran resource brochure. The workshop ended with a tour of a local veteran-owned cow-calf farm, Sinking Creek Meats. Around 12 people attended.
