The South Carolina AgrAbility team took essential steps to expand support for farmers with disabilities across the state. By meeting with prospective clients, the team gathered valuable insights that supported technology transfer and sparked new ideas and practical solutions to help individuals remain actively involved in agriculture. These one-on-one conversations were instrumental in helping the team assess and improve their strategies, many of which were adapted from successful AgrAbility programs in other states. The feedback received was key in refining the tools and services offered to South Carolina's agricultural community. A continued partnership with nonprofit ally Able SC remained central to these efforts. Together, staff worked to fulfill their shared mission of making the AgrAbility program accessible to farmers statewide. One of their primary goals was to collaborate with assistive technology providers and vocational rehabilitation professionals to develop a resource-rich plan for South Carolina farmers. This included identifying adaptive tools, sharing training opportunities, and improving access to rehabilitation services. The team also engaged in ongoing cross-education, learning from statewide disability service providers and sharing knowledge about agricultural needs. This collaborative learning ensured the team remained well-informed and equipped to offer the highest quality support to the farming community. The South Carolina AgrAbility team continues to empower farmers to overcome challenges and thrive in their work through strong partnerships, open communication, and a shared dedication to inclusive agriculture.
