AgrAbility for Africa

Children face few regulations regarding the age at which they may engage in farm work or the types of tasks they are allowed to perform. AgrAbility for Africa staff are particularly concerned about the high injury rates among youth and children reported across the agricultural sector. Major hazards include falls, sharp tools, chemicals such as pesticides, animals, ergonomic risks, and drowning.

To address these concerns, AgrAbility for Africa is expanding its school outreach health and safety program to enhance knowledge and promote the prevention of accidents and ill health among children in farming communities.
