AgrAbility of Wisconsin continues to maintain a strong partnership with the Wisconsin Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR). Over the past year, DVR provided more than $1,000,000 in funding to AgrAbility clients for equipment and assistive technology. This vital support has enabled Wisconsin farmers to return to work and continue doing what they love: farming.
Outreach Program Coordinator Michelle Bachand participated in the quarterly meeting of the Wisconsin Inter-Service Family Assistance Committee (ISFAC) on September 4. WI ISFAC is a collaborative network focused on connecting service members, veterans, and their families with essential community resources. Michelle presented an overview of the AgrAbility of Wisconsin program and distributed educational materials to raise awareness of available support for farmers with disabilities, including veteran farmers.
AgrAbility of Wisconsin distributed its quarterly digital newsletter in September. The newsletter was shared via email, posted on the AgrAbility website, and linked through the program's Facebook page to reach a broad audience. This edition highlights National Farm Safety and Health Week, program updates, and upcoming peer networking events to support farmers with disabilities.
