Indiana AgrAbility and LifeLyfts by Life Essentials held a successful assistive technology program for OT students at Indiana State University (ISU). There were at least 38 students in attendance plus several staff members.
First on the schedule was a classroom session with Marty Cotterman (LifeLyfts), Matthew Harvey (army veteran and AgrAbility client), and Ed Sheldon (IN AgrAbility) speaking. Marty covered LifeLyfts and their relationship with AgrAbility. Ed did an intro to AgrAbility. And
Matthew talked about his personal experiences and real-world perspective. Matthew did well and had lots of questions from the students. The classroom time was followed by rotating sessions with Marty and the truck lift and tractor, Ed with small assistive technology, and a "health fair"" session guided by ISU staff.
All in all, it was a very good day and the ISU folks were great to work with.
