On November 11, Veteran's Day, Michigan AgrAbility collaborated with Michigan Food & Farming Systems and MSU's Forestry Innovation Center to offer a maple tubing workshop in Newberry. Nine participants came together to learn to install a small-scale gravity-fed maple sugar operation and installed half the farmer-client-veteran's taps for the 2026 maple season. The tubing system prevents the client from having to lift and haul buckets of sap across the sugarbush and allows it to drain to a central location to be moved by tractor to the evaporator.
