6 young men and Ned Stoller forming the kneeler cart capstone group with the kneeler cart in front of them.MSU's mechanical engineering department held its fall capstone Design Day. Michigan AgrAbility sponsored two projects this term, so staff attended the presentations and shared their enthusiasm for the end of the term and the lasting benefits these prototype projects will provide to their farmer clients. One project included a series of upgrades to the self-propelled rolling kneeler cart designed for a client with foot pain so she can tend her lavender farm from a position comfortable for her body. 6 young men with Ned Stoller on the right forming the exoskeleton arm support capstone groupImprovements included a neutral position so the cart can be moved more easily, sturdier tires, and a more powerful battery. The other designed "a minimally invasive support device...to expand range of motion affected by hemiplegia." The device could be recreated to support individuals with an injury or stroke affecting the use of one arm.

MI AgrAbility staff wearing exoskeletons at the Great Lakes Expo in front of the AgrAbility booth. The entire team, including clients, joined Michigan AgrAbility during the Great Lakes Fruit and Vegetable Grower's Expo in Grand Rapids. Ned Stoller provided a presentation about exoskeletons and demonstrated several brands and designs. Everyone on the team wore exoskeletons during the three-day trade show, which was a great conversation starter. They also collaborated with Davenport University OT students to provide arthritis screenings for attendees.
