In early January, NM AgrAbility presented at New Mexico State University's Cooperative Extension in-service for the first time ever! Not only did staff present one full-sized presentation to agents from 33 counties, but they were also courageous enough to try a five-minute IGNITE presentation with 20 slides that auto-advanced after 15 seconds. MORE If you haven't tried an IGNITE presentation to captivate your audiences, it is a must-do!
The connections made during In-Service will help NM AgrAbility reach not only disabled farmers and ranchers, but also, this year, make inroads with our tribal farmers and youth in 4-H and FFA programs.
Also in January, partners over at the New Mexico Technology Assistance Program hosted a free assistive technology giveaway for folks in NM with disabilities. During the 1/2-day event, staff were able to give community members 124 pieces of assistive technology that were still usable, just slightly older. The event was hugely successful, and there was a line out the door the entire time.
