Ohio AgrAbility was featured in a news story and article from WOSU. Farmer Len Vonderhaar, AgrAbility staff member Rachel Jarman, Dee Jepsen, and Laura Akgerman were interviewed for the story. The reporter had heard about Ohio AgrAbility from a colleague who produced a news story about inclusive livestock shows in 2024 and wanted to make a follow up story focused on Ohio AgrAbility. Every article and news story spreads the message of Ohio AgrAbility and encourages farmers to seek services and assistance.
The West Virginia Small Farms Conference offered an opportunity for outreach and collaboration in a neighboring state. Disability Services Coordinator Laura Akgerman joined Joe Ricker from NAP and Faith Hokanson from West Virginia Assistive Technology System (WVATS) to present on "AgrAbility - Assisting Those with Disabilities" to veterans on Friday. The audience was very interested in the exoskeletons, tools, and other AT that were demonstrated. Saturday morning Laura presented "AgrAbility -Assisting Those with Disabilities," and shared information about accessing AT services through WVATS.
