Extension staff also participated in several events and meetings. The first was outreach for fishermen and Kodiak-based farmers at ComFish on April 16-18, an annual, large conference for the fishing industry. Staff members were struck by the similarities in generational fishing families and farmers, with one person describing fishing as his entire family's identity and the loss felt by having to consider stopping due to injuries and arthritis. The marine advisory agent for the region was very enthusiastic about AgrAbility and is excited to partner in bringing it to his communities.
